PENGENALAN
CRC Hospital Sultanah Aminah Johor Bahru (HCRC HSAJB) was established in Johor as one of the 36 networks of CRCs of the Ministry of Health in 2007. CRC HSAJB supports and builds research capacity within Johor Bahru district and across the district under the guidance of the National Institute of Clinical research (ICR).
The Institutes of Clinical research (ICR) or previously known as Clinical Research Centre (CRC) was conceived in 1997 and has been operational since August 2000. ICR function as the clinical research arm of the Ministry of Health Malaysia and is located in NIH (National Institute of health) complex in Setia Alam Selangor.
National CRC is one of 7 research organization under the umbrella of the National Institutes of Health of the MOH. The others are The Institute for Medical Research (IMR), Institute of Public Health (IPH), Institute of Health Management (IHM), Institute of Health Promotion (IHP), Institute for Health System Research (IHSR), National Institute for Natural Product & Vaccinology.

To improve patients’ health outcomes through ethical and quality clinical research.
OBJEKTIF
Act as clinical research one stop centre with capacity to support diverse research activities, providing consultation on research methodology, study design, protocol development and statistical analysis.
FUNGSI CRC
1. To support and facilitate research activities in the hospital through the provision of:
- Database of clinicians interested in research – by interest areas, track record on Industry Sponsored Research (ISR) for Investigator Initiated Research (IIR) and publications.
- Technical support such as statistical analysis.
- Administrative support and assistance for investigators to conduct study
- Facility support such as IT, statistical software, and others, and work station.
2. To assist in the registration of research protocol to NMRR (National Medical Research Register) and application of grants for research.
3. To participate in clinical trials and other researches initiated or coordinated by the national CRC.
4. To promote research through capacity building in the following ways:
- Conduct courses such as Good Clinical Practice (GCP), Introduction to clinical research (ICR), research methodology and biostatistics.
- Conduct regular in-house Continuous Professional Development (CPD) and continuous medical education (CME) related to clinical research.
- Run research clinics – provide consultation on research methodology, study design, protocol and statistical analysis;
- Conduct training program for clinicians and other medical professionals interested in research.
5. To facilitate JPP-CRC in reviewing minimal risk research protocols and provide consultation in the process of obtaining MREC approval for clinical research.
6. To process the site approval for all clinical research that will be conducted in HSAJB.
