INTERNAL MEDICINE

BACKGROUND

 

Internal Medicine Department is the largest department in Hospital Sultan Ismail, Johor Baharu. This department provides medical care and also act as a mandatory training centre for Housemanship.

 

Internal Medicine Department comprises of the following:

• Internal Medicine Clinik (IMC) located in the Specialist Clinics on Level 2.
• Male Medical Ward (7A)
• Female Medical Ward (7B)
• Corronary Care Unit on level 7.
• Ward 3A was opened to cater for the increasing number of patients.

FUNCTION:

• Provides specialist medical care for referral and repeat cases.
• Cases that have been stabilized will be transferred to a nearby health clinic such as KK Masai, KK Kg. Melayu Majidi, KK Ulu Tiram and others for Primary Health Care (PHC)

• Hypertension Management Courses
• Rheumatoid Courses
• Monthly Internal Medicine Department CME /CNE
• Houseman and Nurses Orientation.

• Pulmonary Function Examination
• Holter Examination
• ECG Examination
• Echocardiography Examination
• Stress Test
• Blood Taking
• Bronchoscopy
